A home for a shared experience
JIV Lodge is not a hotel. You wake among the people with whom you shared the fire, the work and the stories the night before.
Rooms
The main building has four double rooms, two connecting triple rooms and two apartments with a living room, fireplace, bedroom, private bathroom with bath and access to a terrace. Participants share rooms with randomly assigned people of the same sex. A private room and hotel luxury are not promised. Important medical or mobility needs are discussed before confirmation.
The heart of the lodge
The bright rotunda leads to the lobby, fireplace bar, library, Shared Journal and the deliberately retro Internet Café—a place that remembers when we went online briefly instead of living there.
The Great Table and coupon kiosk
The separate dining house includes a kitchen, washing and preparation areas, a tavern with fireplace, terrace, barbecue and granite table. Groups cook and bake together. At the small kiosk, paper coupons can be exchanged for coffee, lemonade, a wafer or another modest joy.
The 4,376-square-metre grounds hold oaks, paths, terraces, two outdoor fountains and places for fire, silence and common work.
